This conference was geared to home and business owners interested in making their facilities more energy efficient, and to renewable energy enthusiasts who wish to increase their knowledge and meet with area experts. The conference included a State of the State Energy Report by Pat Hudson from the Department of Labor and Economic Growth, State Energy Office and Tom Stanton from the Michigan Public Service Commission. John Richter, co-founder of the Institute for Sustainable Energy Education, presented the keynote session "Renewables - A Cornucopia of Benefits". Participants also discovered the latest trends and future of renewable and alternative energy in a presentation by Phil Rairigh, Ford Motor Company.

Over 160 participants attended breakout sessions and visited with exhibitors. Overall the conference was a success. The Renewable Energy Committee is looking forward to planning the 4th Annual Renewable Energy Conference for spring of 2006.
