This conference was geared to home and business owners interested in making their facilities more energy efficient, and to renewable energy enthusiasts who wish to increase their knowledge and meet with area experts. Over 160 people attended from Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio. The conference included a State of the State Energy Report by Pat Hudson from the Department of Labor and Economic Growth, State Energy Office and Tom Stanton from the Michigan Public Service Commission. The keynote speaker, Scott Suddreth of Southface Energy Institute, presented a case study on a Zero Energy Home built for Habitat for Humanity in North Carolina.
Overall the conference was a success. The Renewable Energy Committee is looking forward to planning the 5th Annual Renewable Energy Conference for spring of 2007.
