Pierce Cedar Creek Institute provides a wide range of activities and learning experiences, ranging from establishing a backyard wildlife habitat and increasing home energy efficiency, to guided nature hikes and lectures on various ecological and environmental topics. We ask that you pre-register for programs by calling (269) 721-4190. Please note that some programs may require pre-payment. Featured below are some of our programs that we schedule on a seasonal basis. Natural History Hikes

Enjoy the natural surroundings of Pierce Cedar Creek Institute with a guided hike. Learn about the natural history of the area, learn the calls of birds, or explore the Institute’s trails by moonlight. Discover the beauty of the Institute in all four seasons.

A Walk and Talk with Aldo Leopold Series

Join us for this year-long series of programs on A Sand County Almanac. We will investigate Leopold’s writings as we trace a year at the Shack. The series of programs will include readings and activities based on Leopold’s writings. The workshops do not follow in a series; you can attend any sessions you wish.

Green Energy and Natural Living Series

A variety of conferences and workshops are planned throughout the year and are valuable opportunities for participants to learn about ways to preserve and protect our environment and encourage green living

Sunday Brunches

Sunday brunches, held the second Sunday of each month, are a wonderful way to enjoy the beauty of the Institute's natural surroundings and offer a free informative presentation between the two seating times of 11:30 am and 1 pm. During the summer months, enjoy a relaxing dinner in the evening and partake in a guided hike afterwards.
